…one of the things I added to my new years resolution list. Not necessarily in terms of being reckless “bungy jumping of a
cable car” risk taking kind of bravery, more internal courage & belief in everything turning out right.
Hospitals always unnerve me & I read somewhere that green is a calming colour…here are some pics of things I found in the waiting room to distract me!
Its the 2nd January 2011 and Im starting to feel the festive excesses bulging from all angles. So, in preparation for my self imposed ‘dry’ January and boot camp enforced exercise regime, Mum and I wrapped up warm and took a brisk walk into the countryside surrounding our home.
Never one to leave the house without my camera, here are some photos I took:
Its that time of the year when my thoughts start turning towards the New Years resolutions I am going to make (and keep!) and all the things that I spend time thinking about doing but never quite getting round to doing. Top of my list is to take more photos and get to grips with my fab digital SLR that I have been pussy footing around!
Photos taken on the move with not too much thought behind them can come out looking quite interesting. I took these on a trip into Northallerton this afternoon, not the most fantastic by any stretch but proof that where ever you turn with open eyes there can be something beautiful waiting to be seen.
I can’t believe its nearly Christmas, 2010 has passed by so fast…so much has happened and Im so tired I cant wait to have a break, rest, relax and ponder the last 12 months.
I’m keeping everything crossed that I’ll get home without too much hassle. The snow has been causing chaos and throwing everything into disarray. And this year I have extra baggage to take home…Napoleon will be joining in the Northern festivities along with my folks and their two cats…it should be interesting!
Here are a couple of pics I took last year on our Boxing Day walk:
…attacking everything even if its not moving, swinging from the curtains, digging up plants and spreading soil everywhere, balancing on precarious ledges and falling off, flicking litter all over the kitchen, plotting to climb on the kitchen surfaces, climbing behind the washing machine and getting stuck, watching TV while balancing on a scratching post, playing inside boxes, chewing through earphones…but someone has to do it!
Hmmm…I think I have a long way to go before I master my new digital SLR camera. I took it to Brussels with me and with a mixture of fear, anticipation and eventually frustration tried to take some half decent photos. Overcast, raining and cold…Im not sure these were the best conditions to try out my new toy!
Things can only get better:
